Your entryway is a key part of your curb appeal and provides a solid first impression of your home to visitors. Your front walkway leading to your front door is the first thing any visitor will see of your home. Having a well-designed, well-maintained, and well-lit entryway will give your home a welcoming vibe. Making sure the lighting is not just right for the space, but functional as well, will not only add to the aesthetic appeal, but will keep both your family and visitors safe when walking to your door.
These North End Ann Arbor homeowners had a front walkway and exterior lighting leading to their front door that was failing and outdated. The landscaping around the steps was overgrown, and the materials used didn’t match the exterior of their home in a cohesive way. They wanted to update their entryway with a functional and natural look. This family found Twin Oaks Landscape via a web search and spoke with our experts for the best way to update their entryway and fix the exterior lighting issues. They trusted our experts to develop a solution that was not only functional, but aesthetically appealing.
The Twin Oaks Landscape solution was to tear out the existing walkway and steps leading to the entryway. We then not only replaced the walkway with updated and high-quality pavers, but installed dimensional steps with landings for a better flow. Instead of simply replacing a failing lighting system, the family decided to upgrade their exterior lighting with a state-of-the-art WiFi controlled system. During the job, the customer was impressed at seeing how their old, outdated landscape and entryway could be transformed into something so elegant. Instead of a set of crumbling steps, the dimensional steps with landings allowed for a much smoother entry and fit with the style of the home. Our team makes the effort to not only get the project done efficiently for each of our clients, but will try to get the job done with the least amount of disturbance. This family was very impressed with our team throughout the process.
Twin Oaks Landscape used Fendt Holland pavers with Rosetta dimensional steps for the entryway, along with a ProTrade lighting system. Fendt pavers are made in Michigan, and a local pioneer in the design and production of innovative paving stones. We appreciate their high quality materials, and supporting a local business is a bonus. The pavers are high-density with exceptional strength that can hold up to Michigan weather, as they absorb a minimal amount of moisture and will therefore resist the effects of freezing and thawing. Not only are Fendt pavers superior in function, they are designed with beauty in mind. ProTrade lighting systems are also designed to withstand harsh weather environments. Their simple design will fit with any outdoor aesthetic and will perform for many seasons without issue.
These homeowners were very happy with the team throughout the work on the project. They were thrilled with the end result and very impressed with how easy the lighting system is to operate. Their home is now updated, well-lit, and has a clean look that will serve them well.
